Holly Hunter was an American actress, who gained fame for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her film Piano earned her an Oscar. She started her career as an actress on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. She has always had an interest in acting since she started school. Her debut role in a show in the fifth grade was Helen Keller. Mumps led her to lose her hearing in one of her ears, but this was not enough to stop the actress from fulfilling her dream. While in college, she studied drama after which she relocated in New York City with her ambitions with her sights set. In a chance encounter she got stuck in an elevator alongside writer Beth Henley and the two worked together on the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart that was Hunter's first performance. Her first role in film came after she relocated from Los Angeles. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
