Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for the film Piano. Her career began as an actress on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. She is a lover of acting from the time when she was in the school. The first time she appeared in a show in the fifth grade was Helen Keller. Mumps made her lose hearing in one her ears, but this was not enough to stop the actress from pursuing her dream. As a young woman she was a drama student in the college level and then moved to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could pursue her ambitions. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in a lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. Following her move to Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered a supporting role for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Her work spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in numerous TV shows or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
