Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is a famous American actress and producer. She has gained recognition for her exceptional performances in films including Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with many awards for her performance which includes an Oscar. Her career began as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. She has had a passion for acting ever since when she was in the school. Her debut role in a show in the fifth grade was in Helen Keller. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in one ear, but she refused to let that to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actor. In her teens She studied acting before moving to New York City. Through a random encounter, she was stuck in an elevator alongside writer Beth Henley and the two worked together on the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart and made Hunter's debut. She relocated into Los Angeles and tried to get movie parts. For Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. Her career spans more than 30 years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows as well as series and films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received the Women in Film Lucy Award.
